Hi, I'm a newbie to Flare and am currently setting up variables for our UK and US terminology differences. I found a discussion in 2009(!!) about being unable to capitalize variables within the topic - it had to be done using different variable definitions, e.g.:
Name of Variable: marketeer
Definitions of Variable:
marketeer
Marketeer
sales rep
Sales Rep
Does this still hold true? Or have there been any improvements since 2009 that alleviate this process? We have a large number of terms!
Thanks for any help you can give me on this.

Re: Capital Letters in Variables
Not quite sure what you want to do here but you can capitalize a variable (or any text for that matter) by applying the capitalize text transformation (select the variable and Home > Font > Advanced > Transform > Capitalize.)
<p>The <MadCap:variable name="ProjectVariables.SerialNumberLocation" style="text-transform: capitalize;" /> source...
<p>The <MadCap:variable name="ProjectVariables.SerialNumberLocation" style="text-transform: capitalize;" /> source...
Re: Capital Letters in Variables
Yes, that's exactly what I wanted to do. It works great. Thank you!

Re: Capital Letters in Variables
I have a problem with capital letters in variables. I'm generating output for PDF, using the TOC depth for heading levels. The Capitalize transformation works fine for variables in the body of the document, but when I have a variable in a topic heading, the PDF "bookmarks" view has the variable in lowercase.
Is there anything I can do to get the PDF bookmarks to capitalize correctly?
