Remove Hover on Web Medium Navigation Items

Hi everyone. I'm wanting to remove the hover effect/action on my TopNav HTML5 project. When users are in landscape mode on a laptop/tablet (i.e., Microsoft Surface) and they tap a menu item (or a submenu item), Flare takes them directly to the linked topic and does not allow them to use the dropdown menu. I've tried removing the link to the topic so that a tap would display the menu, and that works, but it's not a viable solution because there are submenus in play, so the same thing would happen 2 levels down too.

I want users, desktop or not, to tap the menu item to display the remaining menu items and submenu items. The hover effect causes usability problems on larger tablets and touchscreen laptops.

It works fine in tablet mode and doesn't automatically open the topic if a submenu is associated it with, so I know Flare has the capability to do this in desktop mode too.
