Stylesheet shortcuts?

Post by ksharkey9414 »

Is there a way to have one stylesheet in a central location on my computer (such as a templates folder in my Flare directory) with shortcuts to it in each of my projects so that when I tweak or add new styles, the changes are automatically reflected in the projects? I have been doing this manually by copying the new stylesheet into each manual after I've made changes. But it would be so much easier to use shortcuts to a templates folder where I can store cross-project things like my css, tables stylesheet, common images, etc.

What you're describing can be accomplished in either of two ways:
-- External resources -- Read more here: http://help.madcapsoftware.com/flare12/ ... ources.htm
-- Global project linking -- Read more here: http://help.madcapsoftware.com/flare12/ ... inking.htm

My sense is that global project linking is the more popular method of maintaining a centralized set of resources that can then be imported into other projects, where they are used but not edited. There are *many* discussions on the forums about global project linking.

Wow! I never would have thought of using "global project linking" for a search when I was looking for other posts on this question. That's one problem with online searching instead of using indexes (or the old library cards when looking for books): you're unlikely to come upon other items serendipitously (did I just make up a word or did I just spell this one wrong?). I'll definitely go into that forum topic and dig about a bit.

Thanks a bunch!
