Sharing a Stylesheet

If it is possible to share a stylesheet, how would I do it?

Collaborating on a project

Post by ccardimon »

If it is possible to collaborate on a project, to share a project I wrote with someone else, how would I do it?

Who do you want to share it with?

Can you provide a little bit more information?

The obvious answer is source control, but given it is obvious I'm guessing you are working in an unusual arrangement.

A stylesheet is just a .css file, so you can send it all by its lonesome to anyone you care to. If we knew a little more what your intentions are, we could give you more detailed advice. Are you trying to share it with another Flare user to use in a different project? Are you trying to share it with a web designer who's going to refine it and perhaps add some more styles to it for your use back in your Flare project?

RETIRED, but still fond of all the Flare friends I've made. See you around now and then!

My new collaborator. Someone in the same department with whom I am now working.

Option two, Nita. I am now working with a web designer who is going to refine things and finesse the styles. I will take what he does and apply it to my Flare project. Out manager wants our materials (web/marketing/user guides) to share a more uniform look across the organization.

I am now working, collaborating, with our web designer. Our web/marketing/user guides are to look more uniform in style across the company. The web designer wants to see, review, and edit my stylesheets and topics. The stylesheets especially. That's the gist of it.

Your stylesheets are simple .css files. These can be sent to the web designer for review. When they come back they can be copied back into the project reflecting the designer's changes.

I'd be pushing for a more collaborative approach. Try to work with the web designer, rather than sending files back and forth. If possible, get the designer to come to you and review your output together. Make the changes from within Flare...

The thought of someone playing with topics (and stylesheets) outside of Flare is a little bit scary unless they are very familiar with Flare and know what they can edit outside of Flare. The potential for breaking something is fairly great.

I've merged these two topics as they seem to be following the same thread...
