Toggler expand/collapse images missing in Flare 12

Some of my togglers are simply an icon (image) and they appear within paragraphs. They are used to show/hide a screen capture. For example, a topic paragraph might say:

"Use the XYZ dialog box& to perform this task."

where the ampersand in this example is actually an icon image. These are used throughout my topics (gulp) and I have a Madcap Toggler class for them. The class defines the open and closed images (basically plus and minus signs) that appear next to the icon to indicate whether the example is expanded or collapsed. This is sort of a remnant of RoboHelp, where all my old drop-downs that started a new paragraph, got converted to togglers.

I just upgraded from Flare 11 to Flare 12 and built my project. All of these icon-style togglers no longer show the expand/collapse image after the icon. Instead, there is a big gap of white space after the icon (pretty ugly in the middle of a paragraph). I checked the toggle class and the open and close images are still defined and pointing to my /images folder, and the images themselves are there, where they have always been.

Any idea on why these images would disappear in Flare 12?

Could this be another case of this (viewtopic.php?f=13&t=27205) affecting Flare 12 images?
Try installing the 64-bit version of Ghostscript.
