When I generate and view my HTML locally (from the output folder), it looks fine. However, if I zip it up and post it and then download it, unzip, and view, it has ugly missing image artifacts. The image it is missing is transparent.gif. Oddly, it has sometimes been there (I know because I looked at some old output folders).
I can't figure out where that is coming from or why it isn't being included in the build. When it is there, it is in skins/skin-name/images/, but when I look in the project folder in Flare, there are no subfolders to skins.
Any clues about what might be going on?

Re: skin loses transparent.gif file
While I can't quite follow what you're doing, and looking at your other post, it sounds as if there is a full file path (as opposed to relative file path) that is not resolving when you go to the newer project.
Hopefully that gives you something to check!

Re: skin loses transparent.gif file
All custom images that you add to a skin are embedded in the skin (.flskn) file itself. The image files will not be visible in the Project/Content folder.jonathansimonoff wrote:I can't figure out where that is coming from or why it isn't being included in the build. The default skin images will come from the Flare installation folder.

Re: skin loses transparent.gif file
Update: you can't just drop a skin file in like I did. You need to use Add Skin (in the New dropdown in the ribbon view and in the Project menu in the menu view) to create a new skin based on the one you want to "import".
Re: skin loses transparent.gif file
Hello,
I am also having this problem. To add some clarification and detail:
1. I have two skins/targets for the same project: Tripane and Left menu (both HTML)
2. I haven't found the source transparent.gif file, but I see it in the outputs for both skins/targets.
3. In Chrome only, wherever the transparent.gif is called, it will not load and shows broken images over navigation icons, dropdown icons, and glossary popups.
Any ideas since this original post? Thanks so much for your help!

Re: skin loses transparent.gif file
I tried to document the pain I went through in the following thread:
viewtopic.php?f=6&t=32201
I am pretty sure I was using standard HTML5 Top-Navigation skins in Flare 2019 r2 (15.7283.32587 - 2019-12-10:18:11 - 64-bit). I admit I took over this project from people who had very little experience with Flare so they may have done something unexpected in a place I have not thought to look yet.
transparent.gif is the only file that seems to have this problem. I fixed the problem with post-build events, copying the gif file into the place that Madcap is expecting to find it even though it is outside of the project.
If this results in an actual fix issued by Madcap, I will want to undo the post-build events since they are not very elegant.
