Flare 12 Issue with drop down sections

Post by Dee Vincent-Day »

I am currently testing our outputs in Flare 12 and have encountered a problem with HTML 5 Outputs containing drop down sections.

When I generated outputs in flare 11 they looked like this:
Flare Shot 1.png
Now I am generating the same content and it now looks like this:
Flare Shot 2.png
Basically there is a little icon under the text of the drop down heading. You may need to zoom in to see the icon in the screen shot. How do I get rid of these icons?

If I cannot get rid of them then can someone tell me how to get it so the text is not on top of the icon?

I tried adjusting the indent but that simply indents the icon with the text.

Any help gratefully received.

Dee

I have looked through the help and cannot find any information about editing the icons or changing the position of text in relation to the icon.

I have tried searching for a variety of terms but with no luck.

This image can be controlled by setting the mc-closed-image and mc-open-image properties in the MadCap|dropDown style.
You can find this described in the help here: http://help.madcapsoftware.com/flare12/ ... n_Text.htm
The MadCap|expanding and MadCap|toggler styles also use these properties.
I haven't noticed any differences in Flare 12 with these, but I already had them defined in my style sheet. Maybe the behavior changed if you did not have them defined?

I have changed both the properties you mention in your reply to none and I am still getting the twisty image icon appearing on the screen. I don't know what else to try so I guess it is going to be a ticket for support.

None of the advanced css options were set for drop down styles in Flare 11. This resulted in no twisty icon being rendered in the output. It looks like this default position has changed in Flare 12. This is now subject of a support ticket and I will place an update here when I know how to solve the problem.

Apparently the default is to have the twisty icon Flare 11 also but I definitely did not have any settings for any of the dropdown styles. I did not start this project, I inherited it so cannot say what happened to it in the past. In the end I went and changed the mc-image-open and mc-image-close to none in the Expanding Style. For some inexplicable reason this seemed to work. I was then able to change the Expanding properties back to display the twisty and it is all working. I don't understand why this worked nor why changing another style would impact on the drop down.
