I'd like to modify the top nav area of my Top Nav project (the area where the logo, search bar, and TOC are).

Specifically I need to replace the search bar with a different 3rd-party search bar. I've figured out how to do it on the home page.

I just can't seem to figure out what file to look in or if it's at all possible. I can't even figure out how to hide the search bar! Help!

In Flare 12 this is possible in the Skin.
Open your skin to the Styles tab.
In the Header Group there is a style called Search Bar.
Under Layout, set Display to 'none'.
