Problem with Find and Replace

Hi,

I have a strange problem with Find and Replace. No one I've spoken to has experienced it.

Say I use the Find and Replace functionality for a while. Suddenly, for no apparent reason, the Find field refuses to accept any input. I can place the cursor in the field and delete the text that is there, but I can't type anything into it. There must be something obvious to clear it, but I don't know what. Does anyone have any ideas?

Many thanks,

This issue is reported with some regularity. I found an old thread that's relevant; go all the way to the end to see MadCap's recommended solution.

Yep, I still have it. Bloomin' annoying, and a shame they haven't fixed it.

Have just entered another bug (97544) though I don't hold out much hope of it being fixed as it's an annoyance rather than a show-stopper. But we can hope.

Thanks to you both. I'm normally fairly careful about searching the forum before posting, but I missed the previous reports of this issue.

Delete the "CatapultMdiEditor"

I called tech support, and in my case, this happened because the Find and Replace cache was full.
To fix it, you delete the "CatapultMdiEditor" folder from your C: drive.

1) Open your file explorer.
2) Go to your C: drive
3) Drill down to C:\Users\[your username]
4) You might need to click the file path to move to the next step. Click the file path and then type "C:\Users\[your username]\appdata"
5) Navigate to C:\Users\[your username]\AppData\Roaming\MadCap Software\Flare
6) Delete the file the "CatapultMdiEditor" file.
