Hi
According to Analyzer, I have 740 files without file tags in my Flare project....
Can someone please explain to me:
1. What are file tags?/What are they good for?
2. How do I get them?
3. How do I get rid of them if necessary?
Thank you in advance.

Covered here: http://help.madcapsoftware.com/flare12/ ... agging.htm
In a nutshell, one can use file tagging to help track status. For example, you might have a file tag set with the file tags NotStarted, InProgress, ReadyForReview, Reviewed, and Complete. You can then apply a specific file tag to individual topics. Then, using the File List, you can see "at a glance" which topics are in which state of completion.
File tagging is completely optional. They do not affect output, as conditions do.

(Some time later...) It occurs to me that there is another common use of file tags, that being to "tag" a file with an author's name. For example, for one of my clients, I work on a team of several authors, all documenting the same software application. Each week or two, we divvy up who's going to take what updates, so we'll apply the "Nita" file tag to mine, the "Jamal" tag to Jamal's, and the "Bill" tag to Bill's. Again, using the File List, we can quickly see who's been assigned what topics.

Re: What are File Tags?
I use file tags for keeping track of status, such as In Progress, Out for Review, Final, Ready for Translation, Out for Translation, Complete, etc.
In the Project Organizer under Project > Advanced > File Tags you can add new tag sets etc.
I use them especially to sort on the file tag if I need to send topics for review or when selecting topics to send for translation etc.

Re: What are File Tags?
Does anyone know if file tags can be associated with PDFs? I have some PDFs as external resources in my web output. When I try to add or update file tags for a PDF, I get a crash error. I've sent this error report to Madcap several times but no reply.

Re: What are File Tags?
I have a few PDFs as external resources that are included in my output also. I was able to add a file tag to a PDF and built my project without errors.
