Tech support case submitted - for some reason when I type text that is in a variable set, I no longer get the auto suggestion pop-up with matching variables. I tried the same text with all 5 of my projects, and oddly, 2 of the projects do suggest something, but only from one of the variable sets (the text appears in multiple variable sets, imported from a central "master" flare project). The other 3 don't suggest anything at all.
Things I've checked:
* File > Options > Auto Suggestion - enabled, with all variable sets selected
* Disable above option, close and reopen Flare, enable above option
* Close Flare, delete Project/User, Analyzer, Output folders, delete the C:\Users\[User ID]\AppData\Roaming\MadCap Software\Flare\CatapultMdiEditor folder, reopen Flare
Thanks,
Pamela

Re: Auto Suggestion for variables doesn't work
Hi Pamela,
I have exactky the same.
autosuggest has stopped working for variables.
I did notice - before it stopped - that it showed 2 instances of each variable.
You might well have sorted it by now, but hey:
I have tried:
1) turning the auto suggest off and back on in File / Options / Autosuggestion
2) Exiting Flare, deleting Analyzer, Output, Project/Users folder and C:\Users\Marion\AppData\Roaming\MadCap Software\Flare\CatapultMdiEditor.
Neither worked. However, weird thought it might seem: After performing the actions above I looked at Help, About to see the Flare version. The About window stayed on the screen quite long and I exited it by clicking the x in the top right corner from the programs bar. After that.... auto suggest worked again. I had 3 projects in which it did not work and now it does again.
I'll submit this to tech support as well.

Re: Auto Suggestion for variables doesn't work
Hi Mari0n,
Thanks for the ping. I did resolve this issue by following support's steps below. Hope this works for you!
1. Close Flare
2. Using Windows Explorer, browse to your project folder
****Make copies of the folders to a different location if concerned about losing any data, such as previously built targets****
3. Delete the Analyzer, Output, and FileSync folders
4. Browse into your Project folder and delete the Users folder
5. Reopen Flare
6. Go to the File ribbon > Open Options
7. On the Auto Suggestion tab, enable the Auto Snippet Suggestion
8. Open a topic and verify variables popup as suggestions when typing the definition
9. Go back into Options and disable the Auto Snippet Suggestion
Best,
Pamela

Re: Auto Suggestion for variables doesn't work
Hi,
In my case, variable insertion does not work when I use the word "the" before the variable. That is because Flare autosuggests a snippet starting with "The" (which quite often happens). So when I want to write "You can use the [Productname] to...", then the "the" blocks Flare from suggestion the Productname variable.
This thread: viewtopic.php?f=13&t=20093&p=104703 tells you how to make Flare NOT autosuggest snippets until after eg. the fifth letter. And then the autoinsertion of variables should work again. But you have to type five letters to get it...
And yes, I think it's a bug.
