Frustrated with <ul> bullet style

Post by skwpt »

Frustrated with my own limitations, that is.

The Flare interface offers a round bullet style on the Home ribbon / Paragraph panel, except it isn't. When I select it, the green double chevrons display on output.

The source points to

Code: Select all

ul
{
	list-style-image: url('../Images/Bullet1.png');
}
But the Images folder, which contains where Bullet1 and Bullet2 (chevrons) contains no round bullet png.

According to "Selecting Images for List Bullets" in FlareStylesGuide.pdf, I have to navigate to a new image, which means I need to go get one.

I have experimented with this with miserable results. The bullets I find online look *horrible* on output--fuzzy with wonky alignment.

It seems like Flare bullet styles are 9x9, but the commercial-use bullets available online are all 16x16 and higher.

Do you have suggestions for a good source of round, black bullet png? (I don't yet know how to work with sprites, so ...)

I forgot to add another thing I tried.

In my default medium, I filtered on List Styles, opened the List element and changed:
  • list-image-style from pointing to Images\Bullet1.png to none
  • list-style-type from default to disc
I saved the CSS, ran a preview of a topic that has chevon bullets, and nothing changed.
