A colleague and I are doing an evaluation for Flare to be our next authoring solution. Up until 2 days ago, I could import every FM document I tried for testing. We recently had to set aside the eval due to other project issues. I picked the eval project up again and tried to import some more FM files, and I got the illegal character error. I tried with files I had imported on other test projects, still an error. My colleague does not get this error on the same files.
During my hiatus from the Flare eval, I did end up with a new mother board replacement and a reinstall of Flare. That could be the issue - but why?
Any thoughts about what might be happening?
Flare 12.0.5991
Windows 7
FrameMaker 12
Here's the error - and thanks. Trish

Re: New FM import behavior
I FEEL SO DUMB!
I had renamed the working directory with my test files with a #. It wasn't the FM file, it was the windows directory!
