Can I delete unused targets?

Post by skwpt »

The Flare 12 doc says you can add, open, edit, import, and rename targets, but I could find no mention of deleting them. I also didn't see anything on this forum, so I wonder if I am overthinking things.

Logic tells me I should be able to expand Project > Targets and right-click delete, but I am wary of causing the "Null Object Not Referenced" exception.

Is it really that easy to delete a target?

Yes, you can delete targets. "Delete" is in the right-click menu and on the ribbon.
Be aware if you delete the primary target, the system will then pick another as the primary and that can affect topic preview.
I often create new targets just for testing items and have never had problems deleting.

Deleting the target crashed Flare.

This target was in a batch file (automated, I assume--I never added it/haven't used batch targets yet). I removed the link, and Flare crashed after briefly displaying an IO exception, but I wasn't fast enough to read/screen capture it.

I'll try again.

ETA: All better.
