Over the last few years I've got used to right-clicking a block ('node') in the XML Editor and selecting a style from the short dropdown of styles under Style Class. However, in Flare 12, the Style Class dropdown shows me the first 20 or so of all available styles (starting with various table-cell styles) rather than those that apply to the block I've selected.
For instance, selecting a paragraph (<p>) I used to see p.code, p.note, p.bold etc. Now those options are unreachable.
I can use the style window (F12) or the style pulldown on the ribbon -- but not all my styles show up in those, for some reason.
Can anyone help? Is this something I can switch off, or work around?
The examples below show right-click behaviour on the same topic file in Flare11 and Flare12

Re: Problems with Style Selector in Flare 12
This is a great question. Why do I have to choose a numbered list from the menu to see list styles appear in the selector or drop down. Is there any way to make all styles available at all times?
It's a frustrating "feature."

It's not the same thing though, is it?
You should be able to see styles that you can apply on the current element.
So if I'm in a paragraph, I quite rightly don't want to see any list item (li) styles, because I can only apply that list item style in a list (not a paragraph).
Bear in mind this isn't Word, and you can't just apply any style anywhere - the styles available in Flare are driven by the structure/CSS.
If you want to hide a style from the list, you can add the property: mc-disabled: true;
However, there's a bug in this which means you can't hide generic classes; e.g. when you have a .note { } style, rather than a p.note style.
If that's your problem with showing too many styles, then report it as a bug too.
In my projects, we have loads of styles like this that are in our CSS, but are not intended to be used/seen in the editor. This makes our style list completely unusable unless we pin all the styles we actually use.

Re: Problems with Style Selector in Flare 12
I understand that this isn't Word, it's far superior in many ways from what I've learned in my short time playing with Flare 12. I would just like all styles available to be seen so that if I want to change some text to a list, or to a bold style or whatever, then I can just open the Style window, find the style I'd like to play with and apply it. That's more efficient than having to go to the list drop down, selecting a list style from there so that the list styles we created become visible to then select.Dave Lee wrote: Bear in mind this isn't Word, and you can't just apply any style anywhere - the styles available in Flare are driven by the structure/CSS.
It's really a matter of efficiency and having all styles view-able wouldn't impact that styles are driven by structure. At least, in my limited understanding of it. There is a high probability that I could be wrong, though. More learning and the great information and feedback from the more experienced Flare users on this board are invaluable to me on this journey.
Thanks Dave!

Yeah, but remember that if you're changing a paragraph to a list, then it's not one-to-one, and you're going from one tag to two tags in a structure.
There'll be a list container tag, ul (bullet) or ol (numbered), which could both have multiple style classes.
Inside that you have the individual li (item) tags, which can also have multiple classes.
