Insert hyperlink that invokes a script

Hi,

I have two versions of Help. Some product functionalities are available within the older version of the application and others in the newer version. Users choose the appropriate version of help based on the functions they commonly use.

Some content is common across applications. I want to insert hyperlinks in the common content, which direct them to the other version of help. But before they can read that version of help, I want to display a page which instructs them that they are being redirected and that they should switch to the older version of the application before attempting to use the help procedures.

Is this achievable? Did anyone do something similar in their project?
