Word output opening in Protected view..help!

Post by TeSol »

Hello,

When I generate the Word output and try to open it, it opens in Protected view.
I need to copy some part of this output and paste in another document; Copy and paste does not work - probably because it is in protected view.

My release is this weekend and this has started happening only now. I never had an issue earlier while doing this. Please help...I am clueless why this is happening.

I use Madcap 10.2.2 and Word 2013.

Regards,

Hey Tesol,

Save the Word document using 'Save As' and you should remove the protection.

Not sure why it is happening all of a sudden, but its a Word feature. Usually happens if you are opening a file that isn't local, sometimes even happens over our LAN (and Flare doesn't get to play on our network).

Thanks SteveS. Will try that.

Also, found another thread in this forum on a similar subject. That says to save the output file with a name and extension (.docx) instead of Default. Will try that out too.

Thanks again.

Hmm.

I'm guessing the problem is with Word being over protective...
