Short DateTime Variable - month name GE/US

Post by Matze »

I´m using the DateTime variable MMM. dd, yyyy.

19. Oct, 2016.

I´m using a windows7 operating system with german date/time settings which changes the desired date to

19. Okt, 2016.

I cannot change my windows7 settings to US/UK, than other database programs outside flare will become really trouble an my team will kill me

The DateTime without month name, e.g. MM. dd.yyyy is an option for automatic generating, but its not so easy to understand for the user outside UK/US.

Two answers that I can think of. Pretty sure that you could write (or find) a JScript program to pull the date using any locale. Or, you could go the easy route and switch to the ISO format: YYYY mm dd.

Glad that you don't have to use leading numeric values for the month and day. I never know whether 02/07/2016 means February or July. If I see the year first, I have a high level of confidence that the month follows.

I wonder if you can select the variable and set the language for that specific content to US English?

hmm, it doesn't work. All language props are set to English US (project and targets) but the result shows a Dez for December ...

Huh. Well I think maybe it's a bug if yo're using the system datetime.
