ANSWERED: What does MadCap:lastBlockDepth="N" do?

Post by Phlawm53 »

------
I'm curious what information is being preserved by the MadCap:lastBlockDepth tag found at the top of a Flare topic's XHTML ala:

Code: Select all

<html ... MadCap:lastBlockDepth="3" MadCap:lastHeight="312" MadCap:lastWidth="770" ...>

    ...

</html>
As shown, the tag adjoins the tags MadCap:lastHeight and MadCap:lastWidth that (I suppose) retain the size of the XML Editor window when an edited topic was last saved.

What (presumably helpful) state information is lastBlockDepth preserving?

As I said, just curious...

Cheers & thanks,
Riley

I noticed this before - it seems to store the the maximum ever number of indented blocks in that topic, i.e. how wide the left margin needs to be to show all the blocks.

For example, try inserting a list that's got 3 or 4 levels of indentation, and when you save the topic the the lastBlockDepth value will increase.

If you then delete that list and close the topic, the next time you open the topic it will still display a very wide left margin (based on the lastBlockDepth) - until you or Flare reset the value.
