MyNotes condition tag in snippet not displayed in topic

I use a MyNote condition tag for my own personal comments on a topic (what is left to do, who to contact about what, etc.)
The condition is excluded from publishing online (Targets > Online Output > HTML5 Top Nav > Conditional Text > "Exclude" is checked.)
I don't see it when I preview or build a topic, but I see it when I'm working on a topic. All is good.

But I just noticed that when I include a MyNote in a snippet, the note disappears when the snippet is inserted into a topic.

So, for example, I have as snippet that goes something like this:

step 1 do this
step 2 do that
MYNOTE: Remember to check with Dave about this or that.
step 3 do this

I see the note when viewing the snippet (*.flsnp), but once it is inserted into a topic it disappears.
Is this supposed to happen? Is there a way around it? Why would inserting a snippet into a topic act like "publishing online"?

That's just how it works.

If you want to see the excluded condition in the editor, just create a new target without that condition excluded, and set that as your primary target.
