How do you get .docx output?

Post by WebHelpppp »

I'm running MC V12 and Office 2013 (.docx), but the Word output is .doc, how do I get it to output to 2013 .docx?

Open the Word target (General tab), in the Output File field enter the specific file name, for example, output.docx

If you open the target properties you can set the file name (with a .docx extension) using the Output file property. This creates a docx output, but it opens in compatibility mode.

You could also do a save as from the Word Output. One of the things I like about Word output is the ability to go through and fine tune the page breaks. If this is part of the workflow doing a save as won't add anything to the process.

Thank you for the replies. Strange why you have to manually set it, why isn't it automatic if that's the version of Word you are using, or at least you should be able to set it at the project level. Oh well. Imagine most people have web output.

Even if the version of Word is known, all supported Word versions can work with both file types.
