Problem with the build and publish in Flare 12

Post by danidelcar »

Hello all,

The company I work for is implementing Flare as the default software for technical writers and I have encountered several issues with Flare 12, one of which is that I cannot pubish and build using Jenkins/Git/Source Tree (for the repository) combo.

Do you have any links or any advice about this process?. If needed I could provide more details obviously.

Many thanks in advance.

Hi,

I see that when I use Jenkins to build the documentation I uploaded to the server with sourcetree (git) crashes because there are warnings in the build of flare. The log provided by Flare is quite basic (not to say quite bad and limited). How can I deal with this?, is there a way for Jenkins to ignore these Flare warnings?, or sadly, do I have to clear these warnings so Jenkins can work properly?

Many thanks

Dani

Unfortunately, I don't know much (if anything) about Jenkins. I use TeamCity to build our documentation and use a TeamCity build step to build the Flare target from the command line. Within the build step, I've configured how Flare errorlevel codes are handled and to not fail for compiler warnings. I'm not sure if this may be an option for you with Jenkins?

Assuming Flare is installed to a build machine or similar, you can also configure Flare to ignore particular warnings (File > Options > Build). You can also configure individual targets to ignore particular warnings (Warnings tab). However, these options may be less desirable due to the manual configuration required.
