How to define soft hypens

Post by Carsten Pedersen »

When Flare 12 is doing automatic word hypernation it sometimes fails to do it right.

Ex. In my text it wraps "dynamics" in the end of a centence as:

Code: Select all

bla bla blabla bla bla bla bla bla dyn-
amics bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla
I would like to write something like this in the editor:

"dynamics"
-or-
"dy<wbr />namics"

to get

Code: Select all

bla bla blabla bla bla bla bla bla dy-
namics bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla
What is the correct way in Flare ?

OK, I think that I found the answer myself.

I use the Hyphenation Window and define a custom rule like "dynamics" -> "dy-na-mics".

Correct?

Can anyone tell me how to use hyphenation files?

I created a file .mchyph in the Project/Advanced folder, is that it ?

Do I need to specify the .mchyph to use with the target or skin ?

Anyway it does not work only having the file, so somehow I need to tell Flare to use it.
