Indenting list styles

Post by stevenmundy »

Hi Everyone,
So far I have been able to create stepped instructions using numbered steps and bulleted sub steps using custom styles based around <ol> tags.
The next problem I have to solve is when I create a standard list and create a style under say <li> and I set the padding to indent the bulleted list furthr Fakre does not allow me to do do this it overlaps the bullet and the text and doesn't space it properly.

So how do I create a style under li so that I can indent a bullet point to the indent I want please?
Please can people tell me step by step?
thanks

Not sure if this answers your question but it might be helpful....

If you are preparing your stylesheet in a text editor, you can create special styles to just target li's that are children of other li's (eg. do specific styling for sub-lists).

You can use CSS combinators like ">" (direct child) or " " (any descendent).
For example, "ol > li > ul > li" targets bullet points that are a sub-list of a numbered list, or "li li" will target a list item that is in any sub-list.
See https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/doc ... _Selectors for a list of all the combinators that you can use.

I don't use Fakre(?) so I can't comment further about why you might be getting overlaps, sorry.
