Renaming of HTML Filenames?

Post by tam_ba »

This question was asked of me and after searching through Flare's Help I'm posting the question here. When building help output of any format, is it possible for Flare to rename the filenames of the individual HTML files in the set (i.e., a target setting)? I understand this is a capability of some other help authoring tools. For example, you want to build output where all the HTML files part of the set are renamed with the same name as the build file, but appended with an numerical indicator. I see you can convert spaces and special characters with special characters, change to lowercase, etc. It seems that semantically-based URLs make sense in most cases, but it sounds like there might be a usecase for renaming.

So depending on target you want the file names to be different? I don't think there is a function within Flare to do that. You mention use cases, which would that be? I cannot think of a single reason to do that. If you want the files to have different names then rename them in the project, which will have the change reflected in all outputs.
