Note icons appear incorrectly in Word

Post by marisoul »

Hi all,

I have a style (div.Note) that contains several lines of text with a border around it. I place icons left of it, outside the left margin (f.e., info, warning, and attention icons). In the PDF output, they appear correct. In the Word output, however, they are included inside the note. Additionally, the note sometimes had two borders around it instead of one.

I don't want to perform extensive post-editing getting this all right. Can anyone help me with this problem?

I hope to hear from you soon. Thanks in advance!

Others on the forums (myself included) have reported seeing this issue with Word output since the Flare 2017 update. Sorry to say this, but I believe it to be a bug. I don't know of a workaround except to edit the generated Word document. Please add your own bug report for this so that we can apply pressure to MadCap to address it.

EDIT: I usually use Word output only for reviews, so my workaround right now is to tell my reviewers of this squirrelness and ask them please to ignore it.

Hi,

I've also encountered this problem in the previous version. I've reported it to TS, who acknowledged it to be a bug. It will be fixed in a future patch or release.

I currently have a client who uses Word output as a template for small updates in their documentation, so for me, it was relevant enough to report it.

Thanks!
