Cross-reference that preserves link text?
I could have sworn that there was a cross-reference format that preserves the link text and didn't (say) overwrite it with the H1 of the target topic. But I can't find it. Was I dreaming?

Re: Cross-reference that preserves link text?
I'm pretty sure you were dreaming, friend.
The whole point of using a cross-reference rather than a hyperlink is to have Flare manage the link text based on the first heading in the destination topic (or a specific bookmark within that topic, if the xref points to a bookmark).

Re: Cross-reference that preserves link text?
You could use a hyperlink rather than a cross-reference, that'd do what you want, I suspect. But you can't include page numbers in your print outputs with a hyperlink, so it's not ideal in that circumstance.
