Select word using double-click--is this configurable?

In the Flare editor, when I double-click a word to select it (for example, to style that word with a span tag), Flare selects not only that word, but the following space character as well.
This results, if not corrected, in lousy XML:
Here is the <span class="foo">Selection </span>that I get.
but...
Here is the <span class="foo">Selection</span> that I want.
Is there any way to configure Flare to NOT include the trailing space in a double-click selection?
It is less efficient to drag-select the word, although that is currently the only way I know to get what I want.

This isn't a configuration option, but quicker than dragging.
Try double-clicking, then press Shift+LeftArrow to remove the selection from the last selected character (in this case, the space).

I have never managed to get that to work. And it's a right pain that the space after is ALWAYS selected!

Double clicking a word in the text editor does select just the word (no spaces before or after). You could then switch back to the xml editor and apply the style, span, etc.

Never managed to, and I've been using Flare since version 6.

There *IS* a way to do it in Flare:
Single click after the last character of the word, then press and hold Ctrl+Shift+Left arrow. One arrow key left keypress selects the whole word.
Just found this now, and it's bugged me for what feels like centuries! Now I need muscle memory to kick in.
