link previews, search abstracts, and meta name tags

Post by pdenchfield »

Link previews in Outlook.com (web outlook) show unexpected titles and metadata for our HTML5 help deliverables on help.nintex.com.
(About link previews: https://support.office.com/en-us/articl ... 362e881163)

For example, the link preview for http://help.nintex.com/en-US/docgen/doc ... ToEdit.htm shows the title "LOOP Storage Services" (not related) and the following text.
“An email has been sent to verify your new profile. Please fill out all required fields before submitting your information.”

This text shows up for any link from help.nintex.com.

Shouldn't the search abstract be used in the link preview?

And if we wanted to automate meta name tagged content across hundreds of topics in a help deliverable, say use the first paragraph in each topic as the meta name tagged content, how would we go about that?

Thanks!
Pamela
