Hi,
I just upgraded from Flare 11.1.2 to Flare 2017 and it looks like it is no longer respecting window layout. Specifically, it now opens TOCs in the main pane instead of the right-hand pane. Does anybody know how to resolve this?
More Information:
Opening the same project in Flare 11.1.2 restores the correct behavior (i.e., TOCs open up in the pane where they were last positioned).
I didn't notice this behavior when testing Flare 2017. The differences between the testing phase and now are: 1. Elapsed Time (~1.5 months) 2. License activation
I've tried deleting and then saving window layouts.

One additional tidbit:
It looks like Flare 2017 automatically removes the TOC from the right-hand pane when closing it.

Re: Window Layout & TOC
I too have encountered this and came to these forums to ask the same question.
I tried moving my TOC to its own column on the left (as it was in my previous Flare version), and saved the layout in two different ways: I overwrote the "Default" window layout with my current screen setup, and even saved an entirely new layout named "TOC-Left". I closed the project, re-opened it, and while it loaded the "Default" layout, it still disregarded my placement of the TOC.
The same thing occurred when I went to load my custom layout, "TOC-Left." The TOC opens in the same window as my written content, and I have to move the TOC over to the side of the screen, still. It just appears that Flare is somehow disregarding the TOC files and keeps lumping them in with the rest of the HTML content files.
I would be quite grateful for any sort of a solution to this. While it's kind of a minor annoyance in the grand scheme of things, it's definitely still an annoyance nonetheless.

Re: Window Layout & TOC
jmwells21,
I contacted MadCap about this issue and they filed bug #45472 on my behalf. If you would like to increase the chances of this bug getting fixed, I would suggest that you contact them directly.
In the meantime, I've worked around this issue by doing window cleanup before closing projects. This makes it easier to find the TOC when I start it up again.

Any update on bug #45472?
Re: Window Layout & TOC
I just submitted a ticket at Madcap in support of fixing this bug. Got the auto-reply saying they'll let me know if it gets fixed in future. Every little bit helps. Add your voice!
