For Flare 2017 (trial instance for now). I've read the Flare 2017 Online Help (OLH) and 2017's What's New PDF but haven't found anything about the following.
One of Flare 2017's new features is "Synchronizing TOC Entries with Variables". That is, IF one creates a TOC in Flare 2017, AND changes the text of a topic's heading / title, THEN Flare 2017 will automatically synchronize the TOC text to match the text in the topic. (A feature which I've long desired...)
OK, but IF one uses Flare 2017 to work with a project created in Flare 11, THEN is there any automated, or at least less painfully manual, way to get the V11 project's TOC to use this feature? That is, it would be ever so nice if one didn't have to create a new TOC and populate it just to get TOC synchronization working in the V2017 version(?)
Cheers & thanks,
Riley

FOUND IT.
1. Select ALL the entries in the existing TOC, right-click, then choose Properties.
2. In Properties -> General -> Label, in the right side of the text entry area click Select Variable.
3. In the list of System variables, click LinkedHeader, then click OK.
Voila! Your TOC entries are now blue == linked headers.
Doesn't seem to actually update the TOC with the modified in-topic text, though...
Cheers & hope this helps,
Riley

Great tip! Thanks.
There's a Refresh button on the TOC Editor's toolbar. I think that'll update the TOC entries.Phlawm53 wrote:Doesn't seem to actually update the TOC with the modified in-topic text, though...

RETIRED, but still fond of all the Flare friends I've made. See you around now and then!

Re: Convert Flare V11 TOC to V2017 Synchronized?
It does indeed. Also, given that the Refresh icon is on the rightmost end of Flare's TOC Editor toolbar, and so may not be visible in TOC Editor panels that have been re-sized from their maximum width, one can also put the insertion point in the TOC then press F5 to achieve the same effect...Nita Beck wrote: There's a Refresh button on the TOC Editor's toolbar.
