Duplicating Home page footer on topics in Top Nav

Post by Liv_W »

Hi everyone,
I'm trying to use a consistent footer on all my pages (in Top Nav) but cannot duplicate the Home page footer in my OtherTopics masterpage. I've added the footer styles from the StylesForHomepage CSS to my main CSS, but it's still not quite there. It has a margin at the bottom that leaves a white line below it. It's also the same width as the rest of my content (80%) and I'd like it across the entire screen. it. Is there a way to override the body width set in the skin? I'm happy with the width of the rest of my content. The Home page uses an off-canvas-main div, which I though may give me some clues but I can't find it in any of the CSSs, even the Foundations CSS.
Does anyone has any ideas?
Thanks,
Liv

Just in case this happens to anyone else, adding the properties below fixed the issue.
width: 100%;
position: absolute; bottom:0; left:0;

Thanks for the info. It was really helpful.

I am modifying the "Ivanhoe" template and ended up coming across a different issue when I tried to add a footer to the other topics. I had the width issue, which the css posted fixed. But I was also coming across a problem where the footer was covering some of the content on the pages. I ended up using the Inspect tool in Chrome to see what was interacting with what. Long story short, I added bottom margin to the div.content-container class in the css. It was one of those things that seemed obvious once I found it but was hair-pulling in the process.

Hope this helps someone else!
