Some topics will not be displayed in IE/Chrome/Firefox

Post by Matze »

Hi all,

this issue is valid for a HTML5 tripane skin help.

Normally my HTML5 help is part of the respective software product. After a local installation of the software (with the online help included) you can open the online help in the software´s help menu and the browser opens it. Nice so far. Works fine. All selected topics are shown.

Now I´ve put the HTML5 files on our ftp server instead. Now the customer can start the online help directly without using/starting the software.

But when selecting some desired topics in the navigation pane, they will not be displayed in the topic container. These topics have very easy content, e.g. no nested snippets etc. Only h1 with some p text and an image.
When I search and select the topic in the search input box, it will be displayed correctly.

I have this problem in IE, firefox and chrome as well.

I guess there is something wrong with my skin or target settings, but I´m not sure where is the problem :?

Thx a lot.

Do you mean you use FTP to upload it to a web server? If it gets accessed from an FTP server I am not surprised that things don't work because FTP servers cannot serve up anything requested via HTTP. I assume that is not what you are trying to do, right?

But I wondering that some topics will be displayed but on the other hand not.
Seems that that is not a flare problem, looks like a ftp server problem instead ...
