why are topics now opening in text editor?

is there a setting somewhere that I can't find (as happens a lot!)?

Hi cayenne. Have you tried clicking the "XML Editor" tab in the lower left of the window? if you open any one particular file in the Text Editor, Flare retains the Text Editor as the preferred viewer until you switch back to XML.
