Browser frame settings in Side Navigation not supported?

Hi,

since I changed from Tripane to Side Navigation Output, the browser frame settings for the links do not work anymore. There are some links to websites that should open in the same frame so the browser frame settings are set to 'target=_self'. This worked fine in the Tripane version. However, in the Side Navigation Output this setting seems to be ignored. By default the linked site/topic is opened like a _parent frame setting. The only other setting that works is '_blank' (new window/tab). All other browser frame setting result in the same behavior.

Could it be that the Side Navigation output does not support the browser frame setting? Or maybe there are some further settings I have to adjust if I use side navigation?

I don't think there are any frames in Top Nav or Side Nav, so there's no place to target except a new tab.
