I have not used Flare in several years and am having a problem with updating an image in a project I inherited.
The original image was called ge-monogram_VA_v3.4.png. I create a new image called ge-monogram_VA_v3.5.png and placed it into the two directories where I found the original image. I then changed the only reference to the image in the WebsiteSkin.flskn as below:
<Style
Name="Logo">
<Properties>
<Property
Name="Display">block</Property>
<Property
Name="BackgroundImage">url('ge-monogram_VA_v3.5.png')</Property>
</Properties>
</Style>
<Style
It creates a blank box where the image is supposed to appear.
Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Image not appearing in WebHelp
Hi, and welcome (back) to Flare and the forums.
I have found that, for some unknown reason, when you edit a skin Flare adds the images to the skin rather than referring to them in a different location. So I suggest you use the Flare skin editor to adjust the image rather than just editing the skin in a text editor.
Do shout if that doesn't work for you and someone with more knowledge than me can pop in.

Hi
I do not have the Flare knowledge to interpret how to do the following:

Re: Image not appearing in WebHelp
When Flare adds images to the skin, the names are references to images it has embedded in another part of the skin file, not to files in your project. Changing the name in the code of the file does not cause it to grab a new image in this way. This skin is always self-contained in this way.
When you double-click the skin in the Project Organizer, it opens in the skin editor as shown above. Click Styles, then under Header open Logo, then Background. This section lets you edit the logo including the image you are trying to replace. Click the picture icon to the right of Image and Flare will let you look for an image, assign the image to be used as the logo, and Flare will embed this image in the skin at this time.
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Re: Image not appearing in WebHelp
@devjoe, thanks for adding that clarification.
Linked to this question, do you know how I can REMOVE images from the skin that I don't want? I've been playing with different images and now I have a load of them in the skin that I DON'T want to use but they're in there, getting in the way and adding confusion. I tried editing the skin in the text editor and removing them that way, but I think that's a bit of a dodgy (and dangerous!) way to do it!

Re: Image not appearing in WebHelp
This sounds like what you need, I think.

Oh wait, the hidden note right at the end says not available in Top Nav, only Tripane...

Yeah, I noticed that: "Note: This option is not available in HTML Top Navigation skins. It is available only in HTML5 Tripane skins."Psider wrote:This sounds like what you need, I think.

Bit of an oversight, IMHO. I think I feel a feature request coming on...
Anybody got a workaround for this? I tried editing the skin as a text file but that's a pretty dangerous way to go, I think.

Side note: I do sometimes wonder about who makes the decision not to implement these obviously useful features in each ouput
