Target: PDF
Need to include Excel files and Word files (NOT HTML FILES) as part of TOC/output.
Is there a good way and a bad way to do this? Because so far I'm not seeing any way at all to make this happen.

Not sure if you mean you want to link to an external Word document from within the output or if you want to actually import the document prior to generating the pdf.
I import additional Word documents into my Word output by putting a link to the document in a Flare topic and then running a Word macro to grab the document and insert it (say, as an appendix). Presumably you could also do that with an Excel file and then pdf the lot. I identify links to be imported by applying a specific style to the link.
The only problem I have is that Flare doesn't generate the link correctly so I have to correct it before I run the macro.

If you save the Word/Excel docs in PDF format, then you can insert (or "stitch") these PDFs in your Flare project TOC.
