Working with MultiTrans-Renames Files-Breaks Apart XLIFF

Translating Flare projects is new to me. My company has their own English to French translation team that uses MultiTrans as their translation tool.
I've given them an XLIFF that I created through Lingo to test how that would work with their system, and they can find no way to use that package except to pull out the individual XLIFF files, translate them, manually rename the files back to what I need them named, and then try to reinsert them back into the XLIFF package to return to me. This is obviously not going to work. While we will look at the possibility of them just using Lingo for our projects, I'm wondering if anyone has any advice with regards to MultiTrans (or using a third-party translation tool). Is there an easier way to work with these other tools?
