Temporary and [my name] folders

Post by chuck_agari »

Annoyingly, I can't get Git to ignore the Output folder when I have it listed (AFAIK correctly) in .gitignore. Of course I don't want/need output in the source files repo, so I had the idea of moving the output folder outside the repo folder. This worked--except for the Temporary folder. Flare not only doesn't delete it when it's done compiling a target, it put it in the "default" output location. My first guess is that its location is hard coded (which is stupid on par with not deleting a temporary folder when you're done with it), but there may be a setting that I've overlooked in my many, many, many deep dives into the intricacies of Flare's settings. Is there?

Also, why does Flare insist on adding a [my name] sub-folder as a child of the Output folder? It's unnecessary folder clutter.

Well that's interesting. Moving the output location outside of the default in the project folder also seems to mean Flare does not add that [my name] sub-folder in the Output folder.

I can't help with moving the Output folder, but we use GIT and we can ignore it. Our .gitignore file looks like this:

/Output
/Analyzer
/FileSync
/Project/Users
/.gitignore
**/Thumbs.db

For reference, with multiple authors, we have found that if anyone tries to change the Output folder it usually breaks when another author tries to use that target, so I insist the default locaiton is used.
