Can't type or edit phrases for micro-content

Hi folks,

I recently tried to add some micro-content, mostly to test it out, and I ran into a frustrating issue. Here's what I did:

1. I selected steps in a topic and then clicked the Create Micro Content button on the Home tab of the ribbon.
2. I filled out the "New" dialog and gave the new micro content file a name. A dialog displayed, asking for a phrase to associate with the micro content.
3. I tried to type a phrase but nothing displayed in the field (I think a space did register, but no letters would type and the cursor didn't move).
4. I typed the phrase into a text editor (it typed normally), then copied the text. I was able to right-click and paste the phrase into the field.
5. After clicking OK, the micro content opened in the Flare editor. It's a split screen, with phrases on the left and content on the right. Flare displayed a message that warned the content itself could not be edited here since it was part of a topic and that, to edit the content, I had to go to the topic. Not an issue for this; I didn't want to edit the content.
6. On the left, however, clicked a button to add an additional/alternative phrase, but nothing I typed into the field displayed! And, the cursor didn't move.
7. To triple check that it wasn't something wrong with my keyboard, I typed in another application and it worked normally.

Has anyone else experienced this issue? If so, do you know a workaround? I should point out that this was a fresh instance of Flare 2019. I did all this right after opening the application and loading a project.

I've not experienced that yet with micro content, but it's a very common problem with the find and replace pane, and the quick launch.

Closing and reopening Flare should hopefully fix the problem.

Anyway, report it as a bug. If it's related to the same issue, then it's been in Flare for years and never been fixed, so the more reports the better.

The warning in step 5 is a feature, not a bug. If you want to edit text displayed for the micro content result, but also have a link, you do it a different way (which is to type the text, and include a link.)

Not sure what the trouble is with 6. I've been doing exactly that all afternoon. Haven't hit an error yet.

Yeah, thanks. I know it's part of the Microcontent feature. I only included that info to give an accurate description of my steps. I appreciate that you took the time to reply though. It's folks like you that make this community so great.

Thanks, Dave. I realized that shortly after I posted and, indeed, restarting Flare fixed the issue. I apologize for my long delay in reporting that back here.

On a side note, I'm surprised that's still an issue. It's been around for a while now and it's hugely annoying. </rant>

This is still happening in 2022.
Have just logged a support issue (#S058511), as I'm working on a very large project and it's getting REALLY annoying!
