A wild tab has gotten loose
My progress in Flare continues to be slow because of issues like this. I was just trying to change the order of tabs where I was working. One has now decided to become its own separate window and no matter what I try I cannot get the tab back with the other files I am working on. When I click and drag I can sometimes get it aligned to where it becomes a tab again, but the order seems completely arbitrary. What am I missing here? All I want to do is get these in an order that makes sense to me as I work.

Two things:
1. I don't think it's possible to change the tab order of the files that are open in the center panel.
2. You can redock the wayward file by right-clicking its title bar and selecting Dock.

In my experience, it works quite well to drag the tabs to the order that you want.I don't think it's possible to change the tab order of the files that are open in the center panel.

Joe,
Not sure if your issue has been solved but here's my experience.
When you click and hold a tab you can move it as long as you only move the mouse horizontally staying within the tab plane (NOTE: you must stay within that tab plane or the tab will become a window). I've had no issues reordering tabs that way.
If you tab becomes a window unto itself, then click and hold in the header area of that window and drag to the center area of the Flare workspace. You will see various popups showing places the window can be docked. Drag your mouse to the center popup and the window should become a tab in the active work area.
Hope this helps.

I stand corrected about not being able to change the order of the tabs! (Learn something new every day.
