I noticed that in the default table format, text in the white-background rows are center-aligned (vertically speaking), but text in the gray-background rows are top-aligned.
Is there a reason for this? More importantly, is there a way to make them align the same way?

Hi,
if you work with table styles you may modify almost everything. Please see attached screenshot. It shows where you can modify vertical alignment. for both body styles separatly.
