I have a lone cross-reference that simply will not resolve properly when I build a PDF. All of my xref formats use {pageref} to generate page pointers for the Print medium. Everywhere else in the project all of the xrefs resolve as expected, but this one will not add the page number. And it doesn't matter which xref format I apply.
I started with the basic MadCap xref. I use this format in the topic in several places. They all work except this one.
I copied the offending xref to another topic. Same problem.
I tried a different xref selector pointing to the same target. Same problem.
I deleted the target file and replaced it with a new file with a new name. Same problem.
I can't for the life of me figure out why just this one xref won't generate a page number. If any of you have any ideas, I'd appreciate the help.

Re: Cross-reference won't resolve properly in PDF
In the topic in which that xref resides, if you use Tools > Update Cross References to refresh all the xrefs in that topic, what happens? I suspect Flare will tell you that it can't refresh that one xref, and that will happen when it can't find the file the xref is supposed to point to.
If that's not the problem, please post a code snippet here so we can see the xref under the hood. Something might jump out.
EDIT: Oh, this just occurred to me. It sounds like perhaps the topic is not being included in the PDF. Does the topic either have a condition applied to it that the PDF target is excluding OR is the topic not present on the TOC used by the PDF target? All topics to be included in print output must be on the TOC associated with the target. The same is not true of online output.
