Automatically Zip Help Files on Publish

Post by EricS »

Hope someone here might know if this is possible.

When publishing my HTML5 help system I want to be able to (if possible) create an output where the help file package comes out as a zipped folder.

As of now I build/publish then manually go to the files and create a .zip package to share with dev.

Is it possible to do this from within Flare or am I spinning my zippy wheels? :)

Thanks in advance.

I created a Post-Build Command on the target that zips up the output of the content folder. Is that what you are looking for?

On your html5 target navigate to the Build Events tab and enter the following in the Post-Build Event section:

"c:\Program Files\7-Zip\7z" a "$(OutputDirectory)<name_of_zip_file>.zip" "$(OutputDirectory)\content"

(we use 7-zip to do this, but I'm sure it will work with other tools as well)
