I did some searching in the forums and couldn't quite find the answer to my question, although I found similar threads. I do the technical authoring for a very large and involved accounting, payroll, and distribution (trucking) piece of software. There are a lot of concepts that link two different things together so I'm finding it useful in a handful of situations to have a Topic in two different places. In that way, the user can see the Topic Title in the side menu whether they're in Concept A or Concept B. I've noticed that when I have this particular layout, and I'm in the published output, the "doubled up" Topic does appear in the side menu as desired, but if I were to click on the title to access the Topic, or even click the Next Page toolbar button, I notice via the breadcrumbs that I've been taken to the other part of the TOC where the Topic also lives. I'm seeing a pattern where the "default" location is always where I first placed the Topic.
For example, I've got Concept A and Topic 123. I put Topic 123 in the TOC as a child, or sub-concept, to Concept A. Later on, I realize that Topic 123 would also be helpful in Concept B so the user could so Topic 123 listed in the side menu. So in the TOC, I add Topic 123 as a child to Concept B.
The results are okay in that Topic 123 appears in the side menu whether I'm on Concept A or Concept B, but I notice if I click on Topic 123 in the side menu, or use the Next Page button in the toolbar, I land in the Concept A section of the TOC, even if I was on Concept B. If I was in Concept B, I would like for the user to be able to click Next Page, or click on the Topic 123 in the side menu, and see the breadcrumbs showing them they accessed Topic 123 via Concept B.
That was harder to explain that I thought it would be. My question is... Is there really only a single "place" for each Topic in the TOC? Even if I have dropped it in multiple places? I thought I had a good grasp on TOC but maybe not.

Wow Nita, thanks. That was so simple. I can't believe I missed that *slaps hand to forehead*. I wasn't seeing the forest through the trees on that one.
