Hi
I changed computer and all of a sudden when I try to open a picture in Flare in another graphics program by right-clicking the image and selecting "Open linked file with", the only option is "MSPaint.exe" even though I have Snagit on my computer. (My computer was basically mirrored onto this computer and even same Flare license key.) I also have Photoshop (cloud) and PHotofiltre.
Any suggestions?

Open with... is a Windows functionality.

To register a program or app with Windows you will need to use 'Open With' and select the program you want to use. If it is not on the list provided in the dialog box, there is an option to select a different program. You will need to use this option and navigate to Snagit.

In Flare, it is not giving me an option to select another program. See attachment.

You need to do it in Windows first, and select SnagIt as the program to use to open your preferred graphics format.

Also, for some reason or other I was told (by Flare Tech Support, I think from memory) that I should use 32-bit SnagIt rather than 64-bit SnagIt. That was for Flare 2019 r1 though, so they might have changed things.

Hello everybody,

From time to time I ran into the same problem and I remember that the method SteveS described here worked very well.
However today it's the first time that it failed.
The only difference I see is, that it is the first time I try to use it on Windows 11.
Mspaint is in fact available on my computer and it is already the default app for .png files in my system settings. Nevertheless I only have WINWORD in the Flare XML-Editor context menu.

Does anybody know how to add mspaint to the context menu under Windows 11?
