How do I style the main header of an automatic TOC in pdf?

I know about the container style MadCap | toxProxy and the p.TOC1-9 styles but none of these seem to affect the main header.
I am also not talking about changing the text of the main header (which would be in a language skin) but I want to change the style (position, font, ...).
I could not find it in the help file nor here in the forums or anywhere else on the web.

The TOC heading uses the h1 style.

I know this isn't answering your original question, but for greater flexibility have you looked at inserting a topic to contain your TOC and inserting a TOC proxy in that topic? I do this, and use a regular heading from my normal stylesheet to style the title. (I use h1.Contents, which I've given a heading level of 0 so the TOC doesn't appear in itself.) I use a variable for the word "Contents", so I would imagine that would get translated in your normal process.

This is what my standard TOC topic looks like:

I found this topic in the help, don't know if you can find what you're looking for in here.

ah, ok, thanks, can confirm after testing. which is unfortunate. another one of Flares UX traps. If it was at least nicely mentioned in the help at the right place... oh well. and now those horrendous price tag increase for the software. I don't see a big future for Flare anymore, which is sad. missed opportunity.

Thank you ChoccieMuffin for the perfect intro. This way I feel taken seriously and can accept your actual thought much better. If everyone whould write so considerably, when not answering dirctly to the question, the world would be a better place. Good thought, too.
