Search returning no results in Chrome 84

Hi,
As of Chrome 84, some users seem to have issues when using the Madcap Search functionality in our HTML5 Flare output.
It returns no results, whatever they search on.

My thoughts/suggestions were that a plugin/extension could be blocking it.
But the users disabled all of those, and still no results are returned when performing a search.
Also, no console errors appear in Chrome.

The weird thing is other users, including me, using Chrome 84 too, don't have that issue.

When those users try Firefox for example, the search works.
So I still think it must be Chrome 84 itself, any plugin linked, something Chrome-related causing this.

Any thoughts on this?

I've experienced this problem and also searches taking forever >1hour without completing.

Our solution was to clear the browser cache. Hope that works for you.

If clearing the browser cache works consistently, perhaps there is a caching issue on the server. The Toc, search etc are javascript files that are generally considered static and thus cached for a long time (as I understand it). So uploading new items might mean some old javascript and new javascript are called, causing things to fall over when things don't match up.

You could try getting the server admin to set the max-age header on the Data folder to a smaller period (or 0 (zero) to turn caching off entirely). Do note my recommendation about setting it on the specific folder only, rather than the root documentation folder, as cache has benefits for other files.
