Dear forum,
I plan to use a Flare functionality that we never used before. My experience so far tells me that we will encounter a new bug with 95% of the functionality that we have not yet used before. The hardest challenge is to determine, whether this functionality is risky. Right now it seems to me, even if we only decide for the most inconspicuous new functionality, we may suffer...
Is there a dedicated category in this forum to direct these kinds of discussions to?
New feature risk
PS: New feature risk
by the way, this is not exactly about "new features" it is just about trying a simple feature for the first time.
For example, if we decided to apply a CSS style to reduce font size of all table rows, independent from the complexity of CSS, we still would need to plan for a two week test phase to check if this can be done with MadCap Flare without any side effects.
And this is the most challenging aspect about Flare where I somehow believe by now that they rely on this kind of effect. So we will need to resolve this in two weeks sessions and they can ultimately profit from the result. Yet, what was not calculated from all of us is that our companies have to pay for the time that we invest with their support...
