Search Against Meta Data

My team is building a single knowledge center across multiple products. We'd like to apply a tag or meta data for each product that a topic applies to.

Is there a way to customize the MadCap search to filter based on this meta data? Can Flare include any other <meta /> tags in its search database other than the description value?

I'm at least looking for a way for the meta data to be returned within the search results (We can do the filtering using custom JavaScript if necessary).

Flare already provides this functionality - try looking in the help for the "search filter".

In short, you insert concept markets in your topics to tag them, and then can use a search filter to display topics that are tagged with a concept marker (or multiple concepts).
